Judy Glasman

Judy Glasman

Judy Glasman studied art history at UCL specializing in the history of modern architecture. She is currently Head of Department of Art and Arts Therapies at the University of Hertfordshire and Associate Dean Academic. She chairs the Faculty Academic Quality and Enhancement Committee that is concerned with learning and teaching matters and quality enhancement. She is Project Director of ADEPTT and leads the professional development project Artists Mean Business for the Faculty.

Dave Johnson

Programme Leader: BA (Hons) Printed Textiles. Dave studied Printed Textiles at Liverpool Polytechnic and began designing as a freelance textile designer, selling to both fashion and furnishing fabric manufacturers, while also working as a part-time lecturer. Together with his wife Sue, he now runs the Johnson Studio, designing fashion fabrics. At Loughborough University Dave is essentially involved with devising the curriculum and teaching as part of a team to all students on the BA Hons Printed Textiles Course.

Alison James

Alison James

Alison James is Learning & Teaching Co-ordinator at the Surrey Institute of Art & Design, University College. Her responsibilities include delivering the staff development programme for learning and teaching, supporting educational projects & curriculum innovation, managing dyslexia and learning support for FE/HE, & the provision of English language support for international students. She has a background in Modern Languages and previous project experience through co-ordinating the HEFCE funded TLTP3 project ALLADIN for four years. Alison is also currently doing an MA in biography & education through the University of Southampton.

Terry Finnigan

Terry Finnigan

Terry Finnigan is the Acting Learning & Teaching Co-ordinator at The London College of Fashion, University of the Arts, London. She has a background in learning development and teacher training and her interests lie in peer mentoring and academic literacy. Her responsibilities include implementing the learning & teaching strategy, managing and delivering the staff development programme, organising the study support provision and supporting a range of widening participation initiatives.

Sharon Barton

Sharon moved on to the ADEPTT project from her Research post in the Art & Design Faculty at University of Hertfordshire. Progressing from an Aeronautical Engineering background she achieved qualifications to post-graduate level in Business & Management. She has gained extensive experience in administration of corporate organisations as well as Further and Higher Education, specifically focusing on project management, system development and financial control.

Ruth Findlay-Brooks

Ruth Findlay-Brooks

Originally trained in theatre design, Ruth’s eclectic early career included book publishing, street theatre and financial planning. For the past six years she has specialised in managing funded projects ranging from mentoring for disaffected youths to setting up and running a media training studio. She has produced a variety of training materials with the Greenwood partnership, and is also an Associate Lecturer in Social Sciences with the Open University. Ruth has just completed a masters in the social sciences.

Lorraine de Souza

Lorraine has moved to the ADEPTT project from her post as Secretary to the Dean of the Faculty Art & Design at University of Hertfordshire. Progressing from a customer service background she has held various roles in administration in Further and Higher Education and brings with her the knowledge and essential organisational skills to keep the project on track.

Neil Pugh

Neil is a student at the University of Hertfordshire studying for a degree in Computer Science. He's currently gaining experience in his placement year working for the university's e-Business department. Other employment experiences include the extensively seeked after qualities of pushing trollys, cleaning pots and mopping floors. He has been trained thoroughly in the programming of websites, and is looking to develop skills in as wide a spectrum of computer related subjects as possible.

Daniel Goodbrey

Daniel Merlin Goodbrey is a new media artist, lecturer and occasional drunk. Born on Halloween to a family of antique dealers in Suffolk, it took Daniel just 23 years to leave home and earn his masters degree in the Digital Practices of Hyperfiction. He currently lives near London, where he lectures in various aspects of new media design at the University of Hertfordshire. He also maintains an archive of experimental fictions at http://e-merl.com.

Michael Carter

Michael Carter

Following a six-year printing apprenticeship, Michael studied at Leicester Royal College of Art. After a number of years as Art Director of a publishing company, he set up his own successful design company. Since selling the company, Michael has worked freelance in publishing as well as designing corporate identities, educational and distance learning materials. He combines this with part-time work as a Senior Lecturer in Graphic Design at the University of Hertfordshire.
